Oof. I had this done a couple of years ago. It wasn’t so bad in the end, and I hope the examination works out well for you. I chugged quite happily on laughing gas throughout.
This is my third in 6 years since turning 40, and I don't remember the other times being as unpleasant, both in prep and in recovery. I am particularly displeased with the doctor's procedural notes, specifically the insinuating tone of "The patient tolerated the procedure well" or the backhanded compliment "The quality of the bowel preparation was adequate." Cheeky bastard.

My girlfriend told me yesterday that someone she works with went to Mexico with some friends and tested positive the night before her flight home. You are allowed to fly within Mexico without providing a negative test, so she flew from their resort city to Tijuana, rented a car to drive across the border, then flew home from San Diego. I'm thinking that bordered a little bit on irresponsible.

Wow, that’s quite a loophole.

Instead of exposing people on one international flight, she exposed people on two domestic flights.

I have tended to be on the more cautious side during the pandemic, but at this point I have to wonder how effective the test requirement is. Practically all of Europe has lifted it.
