These were fantastic units with really great feature sets if not overkill. Had both 4-track capabilities as well as sound-on-sound if you were to record 4 tracks and then use the 4 aux ins to add additional tracking while you mix-down. What makes it even more useful in 2022 is the direct channel outputs for going right into a daw if you're just wanting to get a little of that 4-track vibe or whatever
Sweet / yeah that’s exactly what I was hoping for. I had a tascam 424 that I thought was very cool but I wasn’t at a place where I was using it effectively and gave it to a friend. Playing with tapes now sounds fun.

Man, Deltronics absolutely fucked me back in the day. I had an appt to drop off some gear on a Saturday & they were a no show & got crappy w/ me stating that I did the no-show on them the week previous & I was like "uh scroll up." No response.
This part wasn't their fault but I got blasted w/ a really bad speeding ticket trying to make the appointment too which just made things worse.

It sounds fantastic. Sustainy and bright with a natural shimmer in the treble.
I have to say I'm not entirely thrilled with the new nut. The action is high and the installation is off-square. The spacing isn't consistent either. Should I ask for a redo?

Is that just straight brass touching the aluminum? The original Bean nuts had a plastic piece on the bottom (or at least my TB2000 does!) as the brass can react/corrode w/ the aluminum over time.

I can't tell. The old nut, which I just examined, has small clear adhesive dots on the underside. I assumed that was just to shim up the nut a bit, but point taken with the electrolysis stuff or whatnot.
Edit: "galvanic corrosion" apparently is the term I'm looking for?

Yeah, that's what the term I've seen before! I'm not familiar w/ metal stuff enough, but I definitely remember it getting referenced about Beans/EGCs in the past.
