In my 72nd amp build I made a rookie mistake and placed my board too close to my input jacks, generating a nasty feedback loop at high gain settings. Had to fabricate a little shield to stick between the two:

That's at least a clean little solution! I did that exact thing years ago on a hiwatt build with an 'added gain stage' - it was for my partner who never wanted that amount of gain anyway, so I reduced the gain to what was '8' on the dial, or perfectly more than ac/dc but not as much as too much.

And here's the full thing...

BP-20R. Basically a direct clone of a AA1164 Princeton Reverb with a few modifications:

- Mid-range control added
- PPI Master Volume added
- Modern standards added: grid stoppers, screen resistors, adjustable bias.

Balls H-50. Hiwatt style 50 watt build with internally jumpered bright and normal channels. Built to my layout instead of the classic Dave Reeves one as I find this to be more intuitive, space-saving, and a tad more robust.









Also, i'm putting my partner to work making amp covers! She's a clothing designer/sewer/creator and has the skills for the job. This one will have a cover made before its pickup next week, and then after that I should have standard and custom covers available.

Exceptionally clean looking, love the Cap on the inside keeping the layout on top nice and tight. Also a fan of rectification on a separate board
