This Cymbalom makes me think of Joanna Newsom instantly. Does she use it?

Doh, of course, it is even listed in the cover of Ys.

edit: Is anyone here familiar with the band Ohbijou? I'm listening to their debut almost daily now. It reminds me His Name is Alive in many ways - weird pop with very smart and tasteful arrangements. Great autumn/winter music.

A friend has dug up an old picture of me from when I had a job as Father Christmas and posted it on Facebook. I'd forgotten that it even existed!

Man that was a good job. I went home feeling good. So many happy kids. Apart from the smelly beard (shared with several other Father Christmases) there was nothing wrong with that job.

Anyway, here's me doing a ghetto pose in resplendent Santa garb:

The latte I brought with me into work had cooled off a bit too much so I nuked it for a minute and the foam overflowed and the drink burned. A minute in my microwave at home would have worked perfectly.

God damned microwaves.

The beaters for the cymbalom are little woven kind of pads with what looks like a cats claw on the end. He said it was a cat's claw. He may have been lying. The long fingernails chap has individual beaters for each finger and he's wearing them like finger puppets.
I just took the gent concerned to Wetherspoons for a fried breakfast. Here he is, sans fried eggs and bread:

2.08 is the winning part as they hit the riff from Miserlou.

There was a bit last night where he did another "check my shit, you've been served" faces and played effectively a heavy metal riff on the thing, all the low notes with 5ths like Tony Iommi or something. But Hungarian.

This music is lovely! Reminds me of Tanya Donnelly's Throwing Muses songs and even Hugo Largo in places.

100 points to Mr Cunt.

I would buy this album.

On hindsight, I would also rent this adult feature.

Project Runway has become the only show I watch with any regularity now, which makes me wonder a tiny bit about my heterosexuality. But it's so bitchy. It's hilarious!

Ironically, I watched this while sewing a motorcycle jacket. I hate them all so far, especially the little douche with the gelled up hipster hair. I love the eliminations. "You both suck but we're keeping the more annoying of you even though their design was worse!" So contrived.
