Atlanta Craigslist- Aphex 661 Compressor $275

I think that instead, I am going to get a couple of dbx 160x boxes and an ART Pro VL7 and replace the stock tubes with Mullard tubes.

Then again, the tax check gets here this week, so I might just get the Aphex too, if he still has it.

I've never tried the Aphex so I can't offer an opinion.

Before you buy expensive tubes for the ART make sure the tubes are actually in a critical part of the circuit and not just a "marketing" tube.

I have a 160xt I'm thinking of selling. Not sure I really want it anymore.

There are some guys over at the TapeOp board who are big believers in subbing out the tubes. Of course, that doesn't mean it's not a marketing ploy and they've bought it too....

Hey Rod, ever own one of these?

No, but I've heard of LEM before. Personally I'd avoid that mic unless it was dirt cheap. It looks to have been made for PA which is not necessarily a good sign and probably means that it will have a high impedance output which isn't much use unless you want to swap the transformer. Still, looks pretty sexy.

all solid state guitar amps with their own fucked up sounding distortion. all good for guitar or bass. have fun.

what's a reasonable price for that traynor? that ampeg looks sweet too.

edit: never mind, that thing went for really cheap.
