I always thought the original book would make a cool movie or show. Are those scripts an enjoyable read?Pembs wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 3:10 pm Just finished The Mousetrap (play), and the scripts for the first three episodes of House of Leaves

542They are. He's added more layers to it. Very choppy, very short scenes, and we've barely got to the Navidson Record by the end of the third episode. Not everyone's cup of tea, of course, but I loved them. I just wish he'd write the rest, or make them available, whichever it is. If I win a few hundred million on the lottery I'll give him half of it so he can get the thing madelosthighway wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 3:58 pmI always thought the original book would make a cool movie or show. Re: What are you reading?
543What would be a good book for me to read while I’m in Andalusia? Historical fiction pertaining to the area would be nice, but I’m open to all suggestions.
Definitely hitting Paul Bowles while I’m in Fes.

Re: What are you reading?
545Highly recommend The Spider's House by Bowles when in Morocco, takes place in Fez IIRC, but applies anywhere.
Re: What are you reading?
547Goth by Lol Tolhurst. Recommended to anyone interested in the origins of post-punk/gothic rock. It's largely stuff that's known, but from his unique perspective.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
