I had a chance to plug my EGC bass into a setup similar to what I use live, and honestly I've kind of found myself missing the sound of having two pickups, which my other three basses (P/J, Jazz and a Thunderbird) all have. I'm toying with the notion of asking Kevin if it's possible for him to add either a second humbucker or maybe even a J pickup somewhere between the current pickup and the bridge. The EGC humbucker in there now is a HUGE sounding pickup that sounds great for certain stuff, but gets kind of overwhelming really quickly. So far I have not quite been able to dial it in to approximate the sound I typically go for, even when using it in single coil mode. That's literally the only minor complaint I have with the bass. Beyond that, it's perfection. When I'm not playing it, which is rare, I sometimes just stare at it in amazement.

Especially in humbucker mode. It should be noted that I don't mess around with volume that much on other guitars (aside from when I'm just doing the guitar > rangemaster > amp thing).

My band mate's son has existed on celery and baked beans for a year and has decided he needs an EGC in his life, with a liking for the John Dwyer SG type deal.2 things - anyone looking to sell one second hand at the moment?Anyone near either Somerset or Portsmouth own an EGC and fancy letting the young man have a go on it to see if he digs it?Thanks EAChris

Can you hang with the thin neck? Seems like many folks don't get used to it and end up passing it on. I think the newer ones have a more comfortable stock neck now that the fretboard is radiused (earlier thin necks had a flat radius). I think the Denison or Spencer neck shapes are easier if you're used to typical Fender or Gibson baseball bat necks.2. The wait. I'm going on three years since I ordered my Series 2. I don't really play guitar in a band, and I acquired a Tyranny since that time, so I'm fine, but I know some people can't hang.If you don't have specific body shape/pickups/neck profile you're going for, I'd say either pick a used one off Reverb/Ebay (or the Aluminum Axes F'book group) or wait for Kevin to post a new build on Instagram/Reverb (seems like he posts 1-2 for sale everyone couple of months). They're amazing guitars. I've been playing my bass again, and our guitarist has been rocking the Tyranny and they're both amazing instruments.
