555Tested positive for covid Sunday morning. Luckily it's just been a really gnarly cold overall, less fevery day by day.
Amazingly my wife hasn't tested positive or had symptoms (nor my bandmates' families as we all came down at the same time so somehow got it from practice and that's after we all were negative on rapid tests). I've been isolating in the basement since Sunday morning so fingers crossed she avoided it.

556Weird, I came here to post something similar. The band I play drums in was going to play Tompkins Square Park this Friday, but our singer/synth bassist just tested positive for C-19. So bummed, playing Tompkins is a legendary move and we had to bail on it. My GF has been sick for over a week so she took a test when she first got sick and another an hour ago, but she was negative both times. I haven't seen the ick guy in over a week, but was in a room maskless for a couple hours with the guitarist who lives with the sick bandmate, so I'll be shocked if he didn't catch it too, and if he did then I was exposed. 559I am 40 years old. I have never met or known who my father is. i have his name. i hired a private detective once.
There is a lot of messy and profoundly traumatising backstory of a man that didn't want to be found. It really, really fucked me up. It was an eternal question mark and there were a lot of lies. My mother is extremely vague and not particularly trustworthy on top of this.
i have been struggling with my health in a serious way and it had me wanting to attain some sort of closure should something happen. Mostly, I wanted his (my) family to know I exist. i had an idea about ancestry.com being a way i could bypass him and after a DNA test I was shown a match with my grandfather on his side. Who is alive. I've been communicating with a distant cousin that manages my grandfathers account for the last few weeks while trying to stay alive.
Today I got an email alert that contained my fathers name. It was the weirdest fucking moment of my life. The thing that should not happen
...And then i read a very strange e mail from my father. Not quite but almost acknowledging that he is my father.
There aren't words. I thought i should tell a friend or family member but it didn't feel right just now. I thought of this thread and that felt right.
I used to post here as Mama Clortho. I have a terrible habit of choosing user names i immediately regret. i should just use my name.
