I returned an hour back from visiting some friends to celebrate the arrival of their new daughter exactly a month back. She looks very cute and can generate incredible noise. They are tired, but happy. I was also delighted to see the maternal grandmother, who is a very youthful retired English professor, and who put me up along with their family in Nainital three years ago.

At the opposite end of London, I put on Houses of the Holy (my Christmas present to myself, a selfish whim to ease a filthy shopping mood) and scratched my head at its weirdness as I lay in bed. But my good friend and host has just arrived back, booze wrecked; he fell through into this spare room and announced that he has "been sick all over the restaurant, all over the street, and all over the Tube". Fearfully lying in bed, I look up at him and hope that he doesn't embark on a second hat-trick....

A sleep later, friend and host can be heard groaning in middle-distance: "It must have been the saki."

Apparently his colleagues deserted him in the restaurant as the waiters covered up his sudden eruption in sawdust. I am demanding that he go back to said establishment with flowers, chocolate and apologies for such a disgrace.

ERawk wrote:Spent about $150 on "interview clothes" (I think it retailed at over $300) for tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed; this firm sounds lot better than the one I'm currently at and chances are good I'll get paid a LOTbetter, if they like me enough.

Macy's and Max Azria, you always come through on the deals.

good luck with this.

well, yesterday my bandmates from my "other" band (where i play bass) basically fired me.
the reason is that the old bassist (that moved to spain) is back. the weird part is that he's back but maybe he will be back to spain but they want to play with him anyways and see how it goes. they were playing together for like 4 years and i only played for two months, so it's okay i guess. also, i really didn't have much time and they were planning for a major change in their sound and it wasn't working like i was expecting. but it still feels weird.

My ex girlfriend came over to give me a Christmas present before she goes home. We had a pretty pleasant evening. She leaves my house to go home and gets smacked in the eye by some little cunt, backed up by about six or so other cunts. She drops her phone and they run off with it. When she called them fucking pricks, they (still running) shouted back “watch what you say to me” or some shit.

She came back and I went to her house with her, made sure she was ok. When I got back I wandered around the streets near my house half hoping they’d try it with me so I could knock the living shit out of them. Thankfully I haven’t gone Travis Bickle and gone out again with a claw hammer, though I’m sorely fucking tempted to. Apparently living 2 minutes from a police station doesn’t help you avoid mugging.

Absolute fucking cowards.

When I was mugged several years ago, it was by a small gang of cocky shits that sound similar to this one. I volunteered my phone quite readily - it was shite, and I'd foolishly had it on view - and most of them began to run. The main cock, though, demanded my wallet next. I said something along the lines of "you got my phone, there's nowt in my fucking wallet". Cock punched me once, breaking my nose, and told me not to swear at him.

Having your profane language corrected by the teenager mugging you. It's a different sort of respect to the kind I was taught, for sure. Hope your ex is okay, Tommy.

Yeah, she's ok. She's had a stiff drink and is going to bed. Thanks mate.

It was a similar thing- stupidly having it on display as most of us have done, except they didn't even demand or threaten, just lamped her. Sucker punching a woman on her own, for fucks sake. I'm just glad that was all that happened...

After last night's Madraso/Replicator show, I declare that I am henceforth to abstain from tackling people at shows.

My left hand is swollen and possibly very injured. Likely, it's only a sprain. In fact, my lack of health insurance tells me it's definitely just a sprain.

Ouch.
