I'm findnig that I'm personally relating to the Cure's Disintegration on a literal level. I'm kinda scared. But it's making the pre-press of the Oyster labels go fast.

Try taking four ibuprofen every four hours. This worked much better than any precription painkillers I could get my hands on during my pre-surgery back fallout last year.

thanks, that has been reccomended to me by many others. sorry to say it does not seem to help much. i am taking 4 motrin before I go to bed, to help me get to sleep, but it does not seem to help much.

what seems to be helping is a massive dose of the chiropractic, and tincture of time. 4 days out and i can now get up from my desk with only a wince or two, compared to the brutal leg-numbing knee-buckling agony of Monday.

Fer fuck's sake, i'm only 40!

I'm forty as well. I experienced periodic knee-buckling pain for ten years. Last summer (05), I had back surgery, and it has changed my life. While I still see a chiropractor occasionally (more for neck muscle spasms than lower back pain), I feel ten years younger and am much more active and, I believe, much more happy, too. I put off seeing a "real" doctor for years, attempting to address the problem with chiropractic, massage, and yoga. These undoubtedly helped, but they only put off the inevitable, and I still had horrible episodes two or three times a year, with increasing frequency and increasing intensity.

I have the hillbilly's fear of surgical procedures, but I really wish I'd had surgery ten years ago and spared myself all of that agony. I missed ten years of shooting ball in my prime.

After making and eating a gourmet grilled cheese (double gloucester, havarti and port infused cheddar with onions, grilled in olive oil between two slices of whole wheat bread and dipped in a mouthwatering blend of Scorned Woman BBQ sauce and Hellman's Mayo), I realized that I always crave cereal after a grilled cheese sandwich (this was not the first time). So I washed it down with a bowl of Life cereal (Mikey likes it!), which btw is a damn fine tasting cereal.

i forgot to brush my teeth this morning.

i read the 'guide to canadian small business' this morning, and now wonder if starting up a business selling tapes and cdrs to my friends will allow me to write off all the recording gear/instruments i usually spend a lot of money on, anyway.

My mornings are somewhat routine at this point. I get up around 4...maybe 4:30...I take a shower, get dressed, drive to work and I usually get here around 5. For the next hour I sit at my desk, coffee in hand, and stare at my monitor. At around 6, I realize that my computer isn't even on yet. I turn it on and once again sit and stare for about an hour. At around 7 - 7:30 the security crew arrives and opens up the rest of the building and someone usually walks through and says 'hello'...at which point I normally begin typing on my keyboard (even though there aren't any programs open) to make it appear as though I'm hard at work. Thirty seconds later, as soon as the security detail has gone around the corner, I once again sit and stare at the computer...occasionally taking sips of my now lukewarm (if not cold) coffee. At around 8 o'clock I'll mosey over to the coffee machine and pour myself a cup of coffee (the first of many that I'll actually drink and not just hold in my hand) and make myself a hot bowl of oatmeal.

But today I'm really pissed off because I went to go make myself a bowl of oatmeal...just like I do every fucking day...only to find that someone took all of the fucking bowls! What the fuck?!? Who does that?!?

Stupid fucking bastards.

I handwashed my quilt. This was essentially quilt wrestling. I felt like I'd gone a few rounds with a walrus afterward. Wet quilts are big indomitable beasts. But it is clean.

I put my pillows in the washing machine, with a big spin to finish. Never, ever do this. They are fucked. They are clean but do not resemble pillows anymore.

I lost the motion that I had to come in to work on Monday to finish the response to. I did a good job in the argument, but the facts just weren't in my favor. I shook my adversary's hand and told him "good job" and will now have to explain to my clients why we have one less defendant in our case.

I really thought I could pull off a miracle here. Twas not to be.

At least my back continues to improve. and the weather is muy excellente. I am so glad I left Arizona!
