Had a couple nice weeks away in Portugal- My souvenir is this sweet Portugal Football 2004 watch that I dug out of a junk bin at a flea market for 1 euro.
As I always do, stopped by a few guitar and record shops- picked up this dead-nuts-on JHS double barrel clone.
In the shop things are getting interesting. I got a good deal on some local stock of 6061 T6 in .75 thickness. I had been working with .625, This allows me to move to an angled headstock- but does add a lot of machining time. Just working to figure out the best process. #40 is in this pile, as is #41 (an LP), and my prototype for this thickness- a longhorn Bass VI that I'll sell when complete.

older demo video of the bolt on 'Clydesdale'
and a quick video of #39.5- which is a rehousing of a bass VI from a DC tele to the 230 shape. Customer ordered the matching 230 bass

before the holidays #37 suffered some mishandling in shipping. No issues except some popped frets. It worked best to take it as a return and refund the customer. I reseated everything, did a level and crown. It is back to fighting shape and needs to find a home. Anyone interested?

Can you make a $59 kit bass into something playable? I hope so.

#40 is coming along. Got the carbon fiber installed and the body is stained- will be cleared and sanded this week. Fretboard as well, I hope.
#41- LP swapped for a cherry body, as the roasted ash had a major flaw in the wood. I might try to patch it up for another build.
#42 Bass VI will be on hold for a while, since it isn't a customer build- want to prioritize those.
#43 is a wild one- 30" 5 String w/ double course on the 2 high strings. Made good progress finally getting the billet cut for it, as well as starting the fretboard.

Ended up with a fucking ripper of an LP. Anyone need a '77 that has been refinished, with no original parts that sounds like a goddam jet engine?
