...is not unfamiliar to any of us, and Mr. Kirk seemed like a particularly milquetoast MAGA mouthpiece, of which there seem to be thousands. But I get that, because I can pass, it is a privilege to not actively track the latest assemblage of ghoulish influencers, and who is taking the pole position now. I don't know if I could, really.

I heard about this, there's a Chapo extras episode that talks about this. It's from 2019. It's fucking awful. But also, not surprsing. They ask the great question of, how many fuckups does the US Military have like this per year? I'm sure it's more than one.

After Kirk was shot, before we knew who the shooter was, he had a really good analysis of who the shooter could be, but more specifically, who the shooter would not be. But he nailed it on the fucking head.

I have a lot of friends that have posted smug and or celebratory responses to charlie kirk's shooting, but none of them can actually give me a good answer for how it actually improves anything at all.

I'll give you one; he was a harmful person who will now do no more harm. You can speculate all you like about how other bad people will do bad things in his name, but that's going to happen either way, and correlation is not causation.

I would be hesistant to make too many assumptions about the shooter or his world exactly. I'm afraid it could really be someone coming from a place some/many of us could relate to, at least abstractly, and that we have seen expressed here.
