Name me one good British band (of now-time)

Richard Thompson is still good, although he's not a band. Also Cardiacs.

I haven't heard any good, new UK rock bands in years though; left-field UK bands seem more often than not to be feeble imitations of US bands. There must be at least a bazillion UK Shellac-bands and Slint-bands and Don-Cab bands, and don't even get me started on the currently swelling number of Lightning Bolt bands!!

Time a UK band started to borrow riffs from AC Temple perhaps, now they were a good band.

I was in the band that Clor became! Or some of Clor anyway. That's my old Westone in the new 'Good Stuff' video.

Why did you leave?? (heh heh)

Funny thing is.. last summer, I met a guy who left Franz Ferdinand before they became Franz Ferdinand.

I guess the lesson here is: if you're one degree away from me, and you're in a rock band in the UK, DON'T LEAVE IT! (that is, if you want to be in a hyped/popular UK rock band and deal with all that shit.)

I had made it clear to Barry that because I had become a father, and had a mortgage and was in a wonderful relationship, and had a decent salary, that I wasn't prepared to give all that up for a year or so's worth of frivolity. So I was not part of his new project, as he wanted to make a go of it. Good for him. And good for me, as I would not have made a good pop star. That's why. Ho ho.
