This is a well known myth... Sex workers are not all exploited drug addicts. I learned this in my college sociology of crime class. Many of them are well educated. One of the most popular porn stars, Tera Patrik, has a degree in molecular biology and was a nurse for several years... There's others too. You will find a higher incidence of drug abuse or childhood molestation amongst construction workers.

I think there's a lot of MBA/business types that are much more dispicable than your average sex worker...

But, as you say, this is your assumption. It's off base.

Aside from that, one thing I like about porn is that it has turned me on to women I would never think of... For example, not so hot chicks... There's a lot of average looking porn stars that look pretty good with their clothes off and their juices flowing... Also, I think the representation of african american women in porn is much more positive than it is in the mainstream media... The mainstream media tends to favor african american women with light skin, caucasian features, and anorexia... Sure, there's Queen Latifa, but she is not a sex symbol... I'm talkin' Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell... In the porn world, you'll actually see african american women that don't have straight hair or light skin and caucasian facial features... The cool thing is porn has turned me on to the more african looking african american women... Not the white-washed ones the mainstream media presents.

I think the porn industry has much more racial integration and realistic portrayal of ethnic people... Sure, there's bad, tasteless stuff like "Asian Hookers" or what have you... But it's rare to see a black man with a white woman on mainstream TV. If you see it, they make a BIG DEAL about it... It's not rare at all in the porn world.

So, you see, while the fucky sucky may not appeal to your puritan values, I'd have to say, most porn has a cooler portrayal of humanity than the mainstream garbage that the major networks spew forth... Yep, they spew it right on your face, and you may act like you spit it out, but I know some of you swallow...
