FT (The Shadow Government), featuring Iowa City-native Luke Tweedy and former Ten Grand guitarist Joel Anderson. They've already released the best album of 2006 with their CD/LP, "Guns of August".
The horizon looks good.

HOLY SHIT!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Stackmatic for setting up the show. Thank you also to Rachael and Cap'n Reverb for going above and beyond the call of duty (especially when there was no call of duty). Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. You fine folks are welcome to fuck up my apartment anytime. It was also great to see Sockmonkey (thanks for telling Carl too!). It was the perfect end to an all too short tour. Oh my god, you people rule. I just wish I could remember everything.
I also want to take this opportunity pimp some really cool bands we (Falcon Crest) played with and/or hung out with on tour. I recommend these bands to everyone.
Denver: Bailer, To Be Eaten, Mustangs and Madras, XOX, Green Fuse, and Big Timber
Wichita: RickyFitts
Lincoln: Her Flyaway Manner
Quad Cities: Meth & Goats and Holy Smoke
West Dundee: the Brokedowns
Last but not least.... Thank you STNNNG for being the best band in the world.

I'm kind of glad I don't remember everything. I remember dinner, and Itchy McGoo and friend, and the show, (which was awesomness!) but after that things get fuzzy.
Something about speakers, and recording stuff, and someone with a bloody elbow taking snow out of the cooler box, and then throwing the bloody snow back into the cooler box, and Rachael sitting on the floor collecting peas, and then Chance burned himself, and spinach pie!, and someone dropped a bottle in the basement, and right before we left, I had no idea what I was talking about, but I told someone at least five times that I used to live on the corner of Summit and Dale in St. Paul - but not in 1988 - it was more like 1998 - (although I think by then I lived on Harriet at the same house number as zom zom who was a couple blocks away.) but he lives somewhere on Selby and then I said "Hey! I used to live on Summit and Dale!" Whomever that was, I'm very sorry I started talking to you at that unfortunate point in the evening after too many beers.

DAMMIT!
I wish I were back home in Iowa for these shows. The FT album rips and everyone & their extended family should check it out.
Enjoy midwest!

I wanted to jump on this thread since I went with STNNNG to the show in Milwaukee at Circle A. Thanks Milwaukee for hosting us and sorry about the cop calls. I had the eye of the tiger.

Jesus, how many bands were on this Denver bill?
By the way, "To Be Eaten" is an amusing band name. Here is a line up from a past Denver show that featured "To Be Eaten":
Something Must Die
Hale Zukas
The Wives
Zombie Zombie
Kindercide
To Be Eaten
The Ultra Boyz!
I bet that there was a lot of growling and whatnot at this show.
Hey, Denver. Seriously. What's up with your seven band bills? You owe everyone an explanation.

They're not bands, they're one-act plays.

Something about the air up in Denver I guess.
