65i like a small, small number of hip hop artists. but as a whole i find hip hop fucking depressing. especially in its current state.

66BadComrade, you quote the second greatest song off A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, but no mention of "U Mean I'm Not"?

67I know this wasn't directed at me, but...what's funny about that song? I don't get it? I guess I hate black people, although, I always thought I liked a lot of black people...BadComrade wrote:Hey Connor. I always thought this Black Sheep song (called "Strobelite Honey") was "genuinely funny". If you can't laugh at this song or it's subject, then you hate black people or something, because it's a lot funnier than "Big Balls", which I thought was funny the first time I heard it when I was like, 7 years old, but now think is just mildly entertaining whenever I hear it now.
I do, however, as many people here have said, enjoy a very small and select amount of hiphop (incl. Mos Def). But, that which isn't in that group just bores me to no end.

Oh, I don't know... the whole idea of hitting on someone who's seemingly attractive in poor lighting who turns out to be hideous in good lighting and the subsequent thinly veiled attempt at ditching them is just "funny" to me.
There was a Seinfeld episode about this, only the reverse was true. The woman was attractive in good lighting, and looked like a monster in poor lighting. Lots of people thought that it was a funny episode. Maybe you're not one of them. "You're not one of those people that goes around touting that they don't own a TV by any chance, are you? That would explain a lot..."

70I do own a tv. I watch far too much on said tv. While I did enjoy Seinfeld, I don't recall that episode. However, the very fact that they reversed the concept is funnier to me than a simple example of a very commonplace event. They could have at least used some clever turns of phrase to make it funny. Maybe it's cause I read the lyrics first. RAP lyrics almost never read as well as they sound (neither do rock lyrics, btw).BadComrade wrote:There was a Seinfeld episode about this, only the reverse was true.
