I just finished season 2 this evening. I'm looking forward to getting 3 & 4 for over the Christmas period. It's great to come home at night and just plot down and watch an episode whilst eating supper.

I actually rewatched the first season again with my wife and found it as gripping as the first time round, but as BER said, theres loads more depth that you initially miss.

I liked the introduction of Brother Mouzone in Season 2. Interested to see what happens in the dynamic between him, Omar and Stringer. Stringer is looking weak for the first time.

Edit: I just found out "Cheese" is played by Method Man.

the first disc of season 4 is in my dvd player as I write this.

One person I know said that season 3 was her favorite. For me, it was season 1, which struck me as being very different from all other TV. As the seasons progressed, the series seemed to have dipped a bit. Supposedly this season 4 is the best.

I enjoy watching the character, but he seems a little fantastical when put up against the other characters, doesn't he? However, his presence seemed jarring to the otherwise intact illusion I had in my mind of this series being "real". Perhaps that is part of the point: he is very much an invading, alien presence in that environment.

I cannot choose between the first three series; they're all very different. I suspect that the union politics and the change in texture in the second series might edge it for me, but then again, I found the third one the most compelling and poignant by the end.
