Quadruple LP.

Oh, but were they meant to be played simultaneously?

I'm going to make a totally double-awesome psychic prediction right now...

The packaging of this record is absolutely fucking gorgeous. It's no surprise, but the gif doesn't even come close to doing justice to Jay Ryan's drawings. There are even *more* beautiful artworks than the two pictured here and on the T&G site. None of them feature a semi-nude Todd Trainer on a bed of lettuce dowsing himself with olive oil.

Exceptionally nice packaging. This is my psychic prediction.

Methinks they are psychically connected, no?

I dunno, but IF YOU DID, I bet you'd get some noisy, disorienting shit... Hey, this might be a great experiment!

that's the one that starts out "todd - play the drums!" right?

if so, awesome - one of my all time favorites.

I dont know if thats what he says, but yeah - thats the one.

On the Peel session recording, I believe he says, "Radio One: play the drum!"

I have a bootleg of a Detroit show from back in 94 where Steve tells a story about a scout in a long woolen coat trying to sign Todd Trainer. When the scout finally arrives at Todd's house he just kicks open the door and yells "TODD TRAINER, PLAY THE DRUM!"

I think I read an interview where they said they wrote nonsensical lyrics on the plane on the way over to England to record their first Peel Session. I might be wrong.

I interviewed the band on my twentieth birthday (ten years ago last December - I was quite shy, my voice is by far the most inaudible on the tape, and the band were very courteous to this mumbling student) and Steve told me that they did indeed write this song on the plane to England, and that they were pleased that it worked out fine in the John Peel Session after such a short gestation.

To which Todd drily added:

"And we've never played it since..."

I believe Steve politely demurred at this point.

So good to see this song return!

I think that I read that the idea behind it is to alternate drones by different instruments with improvised gibberish. And it is always preceded by: "TODD TRAINER: PLAY THE DRUMS!"
