Haven't listened to the Marty Robbins yet; I bought it because it has "You Gave Me a Mountain," by far my favorite Robbins performance.

The other's a brand-new release, a really great sounding buddy record (produced by Fred Foster, who ran Monument Records in the 60's-70's). Lotsa classic covers, traded verses, traditional instrumentation, a warm vibe. More like Merle's more recent records than Willie's--I can see Willie taking a back seat much more readily than Merle, who I imagine steered the ship. A very pleasant double disc.

Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound on LP and a 2nd copy of Shaquille O'Neal's Shaq Diesel on CD (to replace my cassette).

I like the Shaq record more but that almost goes without saying.
