Only ran into swastikas in public in the US once - in and around a sports bar in Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Older punks and alternative scene veterans in Ann Arbor had told me that there had been a considerable skinhead presence in southeast Michigan up to the early nineties, but I had never seen indications of it before that.

The River Run strip mall in Deerfield on Milwaukee Ave just south of Deerfield Rd. Strips of it are fatter and rounder, but if you tilt your head it's unmistakable.

I saw this at The Western Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the late night/early morning hours in early December 2005.

This swastika-marked black man was also armed with a knife and a handgun, which I happened to notice concealed under his leather vest in the back of his jeans.

He was also in front of me in line to the cashier, changing out 2 quarters, 3 dimes, and a nickel, for 85 pennies to hit the penny slots.

Never have 30 dollars in casino chips felt that heavy to me.

I've already said this elsewhere on the forum, but any of you going to Vegas should definitely put the Western your itinerary. You will definitely leave with a story.
