no, cleaner will probably do no good on the jack.

might have to blow all of 2 minutes with a soldering iron. depending on your iron. could be up to 10 while the fucker heats up.

you DO have a soldering iron, right?

If the pots are scratchy, then get it setup. If the action is high, then get it setup. Remember when you ship it to pack it very well or you'll break the headstock. You need to detune the bass when you ship it and have the tuners flat with the direction of the headstock. Also crumple up some newspaper inside the case to make sure it's snug(don't over do it) but don't put any under the headstock or you'll cause pressure. Gibson's have bigger angle than other guitars and break easier. After that, wrap the case in bubble wrap and then put it in a box with peanuts. Make sure to insure the bass, too.
