Okay. Giant Sand. Bert Jansch. Some La Huasteca perhaps?

Not that I'm aware of. This is a fantasy thread and all, so it seemed like a legit enough answer.

I really can't see that being a very good idea at all.
Their live performances were stale at best and after The Future Of What, their records became more produced with each release which makes me think that Steve recording them would be kind of a waste of time.

Once you open the floodgates it's endless, but here's three that occurred to me long before this thread.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse.

Nomeansno. The last album sucks, but still, the Wright brothers at EA?

My favorite Edmonton band (a long defunct 3-piece), the Imagineers (sample Mp3, c. '94).

Bruce Springsteen. Why not? The Boss has covered Suicide. Uncited Wikipedia Fact.

- Definitely The Melvins. Their live sound has never been captured accurately...

- Although most orchestras are recorded properly, I´d love to hear some Penderecki/Pärt/Gorecki stuff recorded by Steve and mastered by Bob.

- I´m not into the Foo Fighters but I´d love to hear some Grohl drums recorded again. The beginning of "Scentless Apprentice" from Nirvana´s In Utero still has my favourite Albini drum sound ever.
