good quote.

Esp. from a married guy.

Imagine that. Approaching this marriage thing realistically.

But your comment really makes no sense, 'sup, unless you are a monk in some isolated mountaintop monastery, but even then it would be a challenge.

he said "such great importance" not "any." i assume, there's some amount of priority another person takes, but maybe not a whole lot, except in rare cases. sounds familiar.

I gotcha. Getting married is usually good for a least a couple thousand in cash and prizes.

What doesn't make sense?
Life is not the silly fucking movie a lot of people wanna make it out to be.
There are just people. People who meet and get along, agree to do this and that together. Get sick of doing this and that together.
This soulmate we are one body and mind horseshit is fucking childish nonsense. It's make believe. To spend your life in search of it is foolish. To expect and demand it from every person you date is idiotic and retarded. If you are dealing with another person, they are their own person and may in fact make decisions regarding their life at some point that don't involve you.
If you cannot handle such things don't fuck with human beings because that's what they do.
Go out, have fun. Date, go nuts. Just don;t be a fucking jackass about it. That's all I'm saying. Live in the real world.

Well yes and no. It's stupid to think you're going to "find" someone like that, but you can create moments, create a state that fits the description. It takes lots of patience and love but it is possible. It does NOT happen at first sight. That artificial Zen is called "Brain Shutting Off" and is responsible for many many useless babies.

I don't see "yes" in that. I mean, you can paint something and find whatever you want in this. Does it make it your soulmate? No. It is a painting, the rest is in your head.

Good relationships are possible. Lifelong relationships are possible.
These are extremely rare but they do happen all the time. The people that make these happen are level headed and realistic about these things.
The relationships that fall apart are the ones built on this seen too many shitty movies fantasy world bullshit where two people meet and they never argue or disagree and they are just in complete alignment in mind spirit and body working towards one goal, which is the growth and nurturing of their relationship and nothing else ever matters or interferes.
Yeah fucking right.
You have a better chance of finding a talking goat who owns a large nationwide chain of gas stations.

People are people, individual beings. The best you could ever hope for is an agreement between two of them. A commitment on both thir parts to attempt something. But you have to remember that you can be fully committed to doing something and still fail. This is just how life goes, it's not a fucking fairy tale. It can become muddled and fall apart like anything else.

To go into the dating world with this silly notion that you will find someone who will solve every problem you have, who will somehow 'complete' you and slather you with every bit of attention and whatever else you crave. It's fucked. You are gonna chase that shit forever and never come across it. You will drive every person who gets near you away with that shit.

Are you thick? The "yes" is, yes you can make a deep spiritual/emotional connection with someone, and the "no" is that it doesn't happen overnight!

I can understand your confusion though, as most people have not and never will know such honesty. Sorry suckers.
