How about this definite sign of band suckitude: A bunch of hippies or collegiate douchebags are crowded at the edge of the stage, shouting stuff and jeering at the band members as they're setting up their stuff.

If they're PRF'ers, then the band will almost certainly be awesome.

These rules all have exceptions...obviously.

But I don't think this one does.

If one member of the band is significantly older or younger than the other guys. We're talking 24 years+ either way.

Oh, and pointy guitars rule.

Floyd Rose trems do get a little iffy.

Bands with massive stacks in a small venue. Like 4 cabs for one guitarist at a basement show. Fuck you.

Looks like something that you'd see through the birds-eye view of the now defunct tesh-cam when John was recording one of his more up-tempo numbers.

No way. Tesh's drummer would never have an ornamental chain on his drum kit.

We had a dude do a hour and a half soundcheck at a show in a basement with oh, 20 people there.

He had an acoustic mini set in the middle of his regular horrible bullshit set. Also he had a manager who would talk to everyone instead of him talking to anyone.
