Angulo v Kirkland, round 1.Kirkland's blocking at 1:39 is terrific. Manny's got some work to do Saturday to top this.

The rest of the fight, while not too shabby, is too one sided to be mentioned along side Castillo-Corrales 1 and the Barrera-Morales trilogy. Probably still a fight of the year candidate and much needed after a series of dreadful high-profile fights.Yours is the more reasonable case. I suppose I was making more of it than it was because I was so surprised to see such an exciting fight. It was one sided, but Angulo never quit and was still putting together good combinations into the later rounds. Great fight.

I voted NC but I will say Crap with major waffles. I don't like fighting and fighting for sport is super dumb. But then again, it takes a lot of practice and determination to become good at something especially in a sport as brutal physically and mentally as boxing. And I have read Muhammad Ali's The Greatest: My Own Story, couple of times and was blown away. Oh, I think I'll start reading it again.

I really like boxing. I never paid much attention to it before, but damn, it's pretty good. I only recently saw my first full fight, Angulo vs Kirkland.

It was getting boring, the quality fights and good judging. Glad nonsense has returned to the ring. Free Floyd!

Free Floyd! It will be interesting to see this fight. The weird thing is that Arum represents both fighters. I think he realizes that Floyd will never fight Manny and therefore he has constructed this to make his payday. Arum is slimy and I wouldn't be surprised he paid off the judges. He already has the rematch for November. This sport will continue to disappoint until they get rid of promoters.

Saturday's card has the distinction of being responsible for a likely KO of the year (Randal Bailey destroying Mike Jones with one uppercut) and the absolute certain robbery of the year. The decision was stupefying. I'd be more likely to cry foul if boxing weren't so dysfunctional and incompetent in general. Still, I'd call for an investigation if I thought it might get to the bottom of anything but there's a reason Monty Burns made this analogy: A lifetime of working in a nuclear power plant has given me a healthy green glow. And left me as impotent as a Nevada boxing commissioner.
