I'm assuming you, like me, would
never miss the Faster Pussycat/Pretty Boy Floyd show at the 3Rock on Friday? See ya there.
(That could possibly be one to add this list?)

soophie nun squad.
dianogah played with this band in prague, and they made us angry that we'd bothered to go all the way to eastern europe to play with a bunch of BS art school kids from arkansas.
there were EIGHT people on stage, four of them were "singers". they were all in "really weird" costumes (ie - "i'm gonna wear a speedo!", "i'm going to wear a funny hat and no shirt!") and they had a puppet show in the middle of their set. and they were not even interesting or good.
but one of them drew comics books, and he was really nice.
terrible band, though.

awesome!
the singer is a good friend of mine. happy grindcore is some sort of long term conceptual piece, played out over many years. some of it involves them being on stage, some of it involves them advertising shows, and not performing. i don't completely understand, i admit.
they played with shellac at the show which shellac refers to as "the worst show ever"

Whoa! So nice,
you mentioned them twice!
I only noticed this because I re-read this thread earlier. This band sounds like they'd be unbearable. Salut!

Major Major wrote:The was/is a local Atlanta band named
Greasepaint. They dress up as clowns and sing messed up songs about murder and assorted weird circus related things. The singer is a huge bald guy (dressed as a clown of course). They have a couple of ladies dressed up all sexy wearing monkey masks who dance seductively and pass out cotton candy.
I saw them only once.
That looks alot like the guy from the Mastodon video for 'Blood and Thunder'. I guess it very well could be given the Atlanta connection.

wow!
The show I saw was strange because they were a band I had never heard of, no one at the show knew anything about them, I don't think anyone really liked it (I bought a single, but I don't remember what I thought of it at the time) and I have never heard anything about them since, until right now. It was like the just sort of dropped in from nowhere and then disappeared.
are they from Chicago? I for some reason thought they were from Germany, but as I recently played this same prank an audience someone could have been messing w/ me
also:shellac's "worst show ever" has to be a good story

At a Sugarcubes gig, many years ago, at I think the Astoria on Charing Cross Road, the support band were truly dreadful (slap bass and slacks), but had an american style fridge onstage with them, for no reason it seemed, until right at the end, they opened it up as they walked off stage and took some chilled beer from inside it. Which has stuck in my head for ever as a very weird thing to do.
Also I saw Smog at the Royal Festival Hall and the support band were from Germany or some other European country and made a horrible racket. Two of them stripped naked and stuck a washing line up their respective arses. Or so it seemed from the balcony.
The Butthole Surfers at ULU were 'weirdest' gig I ever saw as a 16 yr old... Kathleen stripped off, strobes a go-go, upturned cymbal of burning fire, penis amputation video etc etc. The NME referred to 'a punter throwing up' - that was my friend Jack.
Anyways.

a severe lack of joint passing, considering all the barefoot hippy dancing going on on-stage.
I used to pass my pipe to people, but got tired of the disgusted looks and disdainful "No thanks, hippy" tinged with disgust from straight-edge turdballs with no imagination or creativity whatsoever...
Fine, the good shit is more expensive than gold, so i'd rather not offend anyone at my expense...
Now, if someone asks, I will gladly oblige... But I gave up on the passing etiquette, because it tends to offend people.
Even people who smoke often get paranoid (uh, whatever!) and prefer to not do that at shows...
But I do find that this is a great way to pick up on chicks. I met 2 babes at a Sebadoh show this way. They asked if I had anymore... I do at home... lick, slurp, hump, hump, hump... ahhhhh.... 19 year olds. Delicious!

Interesting... A lot of the posts are indicative of the weirdest band also being the worst band ever seen...
