It's turning out to be a rough year...

I read A Man Called Destruction while on vacation, and I kind of wish I hadn t. I knew Chilton was a bit of an asshole, but some of his behavior was downright monstrous: he physically abused at least one of his girlfriends; he cheated on pretty much all of them, although when it came to their behavior, he was jealous and controlling; he was a completely absent father for his son, who ended up in the pen for assault; and he seemed to turn on pretty much every friend he ever had. After reading it, I listened to In Space for the first time. I think it has its moments ” œDony, œLady Sweet, although that s a Posies song ”but it quickly devolves into half-assed county fair boogie and cruise ship funk. Not totally without merit, but you only need to hear ten seconds of #1 Record to be reminded of what In Space is not.
