German and English are the only languages I don't completely suck at, besides the Dutch. Conversational level French and Spanish, but only when boozed up to some fair degree.
I studied Russian, and would love to get back on it, because it really is the best language.

I did study Spanish at school, but only for three years and regrettably I have probably forgotten most of it.

64I took Latin in grades 7-8 and French from grades 9-11. That was a long time ago, and my French is far from passable. I would like to learn it again, and I would also like to know German, Russian and Japanese.

67Watashi wa sukoshi nihongo hanasu. In the middle of my second year, I like it quite a bit. I could do without some of the students who tend to have an inappropriate amount of hubris regarding the language, for one reason or another.

Also known as "I am learning Japanese so I can snag a Japanese girlfriend" syndrome.
Closely related to "I am learning Japanese so I can live out my anime fantasies" syndrome.
Those people made up about 2/3 of my classes when I was still in school.

Exactly! Some of them even wear T-shirts!
In comparison to other foreign language students, people who study Japanese also tend to smell pretty bad. This could have something to do with the people who want to live out their anime fantasies are typically hard-core gamers who have shunned bathing.
