They don't seem to be a good repro of the old ones, but what the hell. Maybe the humbucker model and add a switch for single coil mode. I'll make a pickguard. The body has an H/S/H route. I'd use this mostly for experimental stuff.

Any odd ball cheapo pickups you like? Not trying to get like "great sounding P-90s on a budget." Probably going to use it for noise/experimental. That or just a cheap fat single coil sound. Has anyone played those GFS Dream 90s that have the magnetic pole pieces?
I've got a pair of GFS "brighton rock" pickups...I think Dr. Tony Balls threw them in when I bought a tele neck from him. The guitar I put them in is usually the first one I pick up when I'm going to plug in, either just to play or to test out an amp or pedal. It has become a go-to single coil sound for me. The 'control' from which to test variables. From what I remember they are Alnico, between 5 and 7k and have nice oversized pole pieces. I'm not good at describing exactly what they sound like, but they are just great single coil pickups. I think they have a pretty wide range and are of a different flavor than what you'd find on a strat. Enough range and output that they sound good on their own with any amp, but they overdrive really well too. I don't think they are too pricey.

Seems like it's fairly flexible, having both the octave up and suboctave set up as knobs that you can blend between as-needed. Looks a lil' goofy, but I used worse-looking pedals.
I had one back in 2013 briefly, and don't remember digging it that much tbh. Can't remember what I didn't like then, and I think I could have a different response today.

Will I be satisfied with the bottom end of Tiny Terror jamming a bass at "bedroom" volume noodling around in my basement thru a 1x15? Are most 5 ish watt amp options similar if yr not going to dime the thing 24/7? Thinking of selling a thing to grab one...
I might look at the Quilter "Interblock amps. I bought the "UK", and I think that it is a pretty solid option in the scenario you laid out.

There's also a "US" option.

I mean, I do have a newer Traynor with low watt options that sounds pretty great so I'm not going without. The Quilter would be a bit same-ish I'd guess. I am curious about the OG lunch box thang though. Not pining for perfect cleans. Just a fun, new thing that sounds different but with passable low end.

Where is the youtoob vid of the Sunday hobbyist jamming his 4001 thru one? I'd be shocked if no one from the old or current forum hasn't had a go at this combo before...

I tend to suspect that those buds are busy with things like this...

Maybe we should pool resources to made this "Jamming his 4001..." Quilter YouTube video happen?
