That ZZ Top doc was like ".....so then we made Eliminator! After that...." *presses fast forward, skips next 35 years* "thanks for watching bye!"
Yep.. beat me to it. I get that they probably regret a lot of that music but it felt like revisionism.
the Elliot Smith doc on Prime Heaven Adores You (2014) was surprisingly great: surprising to me maybe because I found his twee Makeoutclub fan base at the time annoying.

You’re both probably right. I chalked the omissions up to the movie’s short length, but it’s entirely possible that, given three hours, they would’ve still not wanted to talk about re-recording the drums on their early reissues of the 70s records.

FWIW, I think you can still purchase this (along with all the essential extras) so some money gets to FM(?) Seth Pomeroy's way:

Has anyone here seen Summer of Soul yet? It looks great
Yes, it's quite good. Hulu has it streaming too.
Thanks! On it

A nice companion piece to Todd Haynes' recent Velvet Underground doc is this low-key tribute to Maureen Tucker, lovingly made by British drummer Cam Forrester.
