Don't buy a second guitar before you own your own amplifier, and specifically don't buy a mid-90s Gibson SG Standard by mail order.
Buy and fit one type of strap locks.
Don't waste your time at that guitar shop in the vain hope they'll start liking you and teaching you things. They won't. Listen to their music, and then you'll understand why that doesn't matter.
Don't buy an ex-demo JCM900 combo in the hope of getting a loud clean sound when you play in a swing band.
Don't try to take up the harmonica.
Or the cornet.
Buy your own solder station and tools rather than endlessly negotiating access to your dad's. Learn to make & fix your own cables.
When trusted friends tell you to send out some demo CDs, actually do it.
Don't buy Logic Audio Silver for Windows in March 2002.
