Looks great, and I can’t even see the joint! I have some salted maple that looks like this that I’ve used for two tabletops and a bathroom mirror frame. Very cool character.

I wouldn't have used it normally, but we have a table with the same wood top and that's how it was finished by the guy who made it. I wanted them to match.

I wouldn't have used it normally, but we have a table with the same wood top and that's how it was finished by the guy who made it. I wanted them to match.

Have been building timber pile bridges in N-Scale with varying degrees of success. The one I made from a kit went okay even though I had to modify it to accommodate a curve. The deck I scratch built for a roadway needs a redo. The nice thing is that woodworking on this small of a scale can be done with scissors and a hobby knife. :D

Oh wow, I for one would love to see some photos of your layout. At some point I’ll do an n scale model but don’t have the resources now.
