Same with my dad and stepmom. The 1,200 square foot cabin next to their property sold for $800k (listed at 650). Sure it's a custom home, but it's on Castle Rock Lake (blech). Also, Herzog shot most of Stroszek in this area, I'm assuming because of its bleakness. I'm glad I never have a reason to go back there now.

Is this near where Errol Morris was supposed to meat up w/ Herzog to dig up Ed Gein's remains?

lookin good

is that metal single layer roof?
is it unconditioned attic? vented on gable ends or eaves/peak?

if so there can be considerable condensation on the inside in the summer when humid comes through and the roof is cold. it dries out but rains down on whatever is below

Yeah, I saw the condensation convo when we talked about insulation. I'm learning hardcore details as I go here, but I could DM you the detailed plans. I'll go visit the Amish builder, Jonas Yoder, on site again next week. The last time I was there, we just hung out and talked intros while everybody chainsmoked cigs.

Driveway is done. It’s 600 feet. Ridiculous to be able to see it clearly.

Swearingen’s Al-Gen Dinner Club. The bartender / jack of all trades has worked here 32 years. Perfect.

This is basically it for the next few weeks, in a rented cabin 15 minutes from where it’ll all go down. Surrounded by diners and supper clubs, I’ve gone out and gripped a shitload of powerful machinery, tried dousing a brush pile with diesel fuel, and tested the limits of my car. Soon, everything will be different. For now, I work on keeping things well oiled, and boring stuff like backing up hard drives / taxes.

i know this is wrong thread but; for those of you with writers block, in need of lyrics: look to the kindly Bishop for inspiration.

I'd love to drop by that supper club if only it were closer and I weren't dealing with a 'breakthrough'.

I've heard some pretty good chirping at hockey games, but holy balls, that's...peak next level artistry.

In Amish territory. Holy shit! It’s almost done. Floors tomorrow. Originally slated for delivery next week, we may hit a short delay. Once it rolls, the rafters, roof, railing get put in on site. Power to the land is done. Final puzzle pieces incoming. Full covered porch in the weeks after. Staining in spring. Masterfully done. I am beyond excited.
