guitar builder secret: gluing on a fretboard is hard because the 2 surfaces want to skate around and not align. so putting small pins in a couple spots and making small holes in the back of the fretboard allows them to align easily and stay put.

Using heavy-duty epoxy and like 40% of the clamps in the shop. we will see the result, good or bad, tomorrow morning.

Yes- just weight relief. I wanted the body route to be a simple 'neck thru' sort of operation.

SUCCESS! fretboard is attached. I spent a few minutes with files and sandpaper cleaning up the joint. fretboard needs a bit of leveling, but that is pretty standard.

It is always hard to know exactly what a neck will feel like until you get the fingerboard on, and in many cases the fingerboard gets attached before the neck shaping happens for that very reason. Not possible in this case. But I am pleased. It is a thick C, like maybe a 70's fender.
