This thread inspired me to finally buy some bootleg Slade, Jobriath, and Mott t-shirts.

Anything like this that is in the same ballpark as "Red Light Mamma, Red Hot!"?

It's almost always a winner.

Tough choice between T-Rex and Dolls but ultimately picked Dolls.

My partner has had a Brian Ferry collection in her car's disc changer since July, so I've heard the highlight's of Roxy's oeuvre and then. damn. some and I'm going to no thanks that one. WF for "Love Is The Drug", that song bangs.

That first Roxy album is like top 5 for me. Probably the best A-side ever.

If this one doesn't do it for you, then asciishrug.

I'll give that a listen after this podcast I'm listening to about the Paul Getty kidnapping.

This slaps. I'm going to ask my partner if she has this one (and will hopefully swap discs in the changer).

Some great bass lines on this one, too. Makes me want to take my Ric out of the closet.

She doesn't have it but says it's the best one.

Well, that was dumb response! Sorry, FM numberthirty. Never once thought of Alice Cooper as glam but I just ran across this and it hit me, and this is after a lifetime of listening to Alice Cooper.

I've always considered glam to be snotty, sloppy, and somewhat amateurish. Bowie, Roxy Music, Alice Cooper, and others, all have accomplished musicians and other work that transcended the genre. Even at their glammiest they were creating complex arrangements that to my perspective pushed them out of the category, but that thinking is shortsighted and just plain wrong.
