There’s a great headphone moment on Speechless about 2mins in, on Helmet’s Betty. Hamilton yells “shake it” at Stanier just as they’re smashing through a massive groovy breakdown. It comes through on the room mics. That album is recorded live.

Stanier indeed, shakes it.

I thought he said "SHIT"

Like he goofed and they left it in
You’re likely right actually. I read an interview with Stanier in some drum magazine from 1994/95 and he talked about the recording process. He basically wrote his parts in the studio and they tracked live. There’s a bunch of mistakes all over the place and with headphones you can hear more less obvious vocal cues.

In a recent interview Stainer said the kick has a 808 kick triggered and mixed in.

A direction that then happens: "Turn the bloody blimey space invader off" at 1:28

Somebody should start a separate thread about that. as it is worthy of discussion and compiling a list.
Assuming it's possible that no one starts a separate thread for this, going to mention something obvious: BLUES EXPLOSION
Not seeing this made yet, so I'm adding Les Savy Fav's name placement in Scout's Honor, during the break that begins at 1:32 is superb

both songs demand full listens, really
