I'm going to lose all my indee kred here but Dave Grohl is why I wanted to learn the drums. I think Sean Kinney and Barrett Martin always get left out of these things for no good reason though. I do love me some Todd Trainer though, and Matt Cameron is always awesome.

I voted for Britt Walford, but I really wanted to vote for Rey Washam, there's something about their drumming that fascinates/enthralls me; John Stanier has this effect on me as well, just to a lesser degree.

Mac and Todd are undeniably great drummers, but neither grabs my attention the way Britt/Rey do.

Danny Carey seems like a good drummer but comes with the baggage of being in Tool; for the longest time I thought the intro to the Tool song, "Stinkfist", was some kind of guitar manipulation by Adam Jones but apparently it's a bizarre percussive instrument that he uses.

Surprised to see Jimmy Chamberlain have as many votes as he does, I'm looking forward to watching that video posted earlier in the thread; another drummer whose talent maybe gets obscured by the notorious band they're a part of.

I recall reading years ago that J recorded all the parts on Bug. But, I could also be wrong.
You're probably thinking Green Mind, recorded after Lou left. J drums on nearly every song, but the all-time classic "The Wagon" still features Murph on drums.

Bug is the full band playing together.

yeah, I stand corrected. Wikipedia and Allmusic.com both list Murph on drums on Bug.
I could have sworn I read somewhere that J recorded the drums on Bug, but can't find anything to support that.
Bug was when I was introduced to their music and Freak Scene still holds special meaning to me as it reminds me of a friend who passed about 9 years ago.
