Just got back from seein' 'em. They were great (and I mean really great) for 45 minutes. But they played for about 110 minutes. And did solo turns! Now, there are a few bands that I will happily watch play for over 45 minutes. When I say a few, I mean AC/DC and Iron Maiden.

Tonight has spoiled Deerhoof for me somewhat.

Know when to stop!!!!

I don't care if it's the end of the tour!!!!

Get off the stage!!!!

One encore is enough!!!!

You're not Queen!!!!

Three encores????

Fuck this, I need to get home!!!!

Still, Not Crap for 45 minutes.

I'm not sure I understand this since I've only seen Deerhoof once and it was at a festival with lots of people who may or may not have been there to specifically see them. Could you describe the pre- and post-Milk Man crowds? I'm *thinking* you might be saying that Milk Man was their "breakthrough" and they've since opened for much larger bands such as Wilco, thus attracting an even-more-irritating hipster crowd? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

You're very correct. I saw them a couple times before Milk Man came out. 30 or so people in the crowd, very few of them annoying. Then I saw them once about a year after it came out. It was one of the most annoying crowds I've ever been a part of. It was bad enough to make the show a very unpleasant experience. I'm not saying anything bad about the band or the record. I'm all for them selling records and gaining popularity (especially because of a record as good as Milk Man) but this was fucking ridiculous. The band put forth a subpar performance and no one had a clue as long as they "played the hits".

BINGO!

The music, which is recorded well, is simplistic, but interesting at times.

The cute Japanese girl singing the Meow Mix song over is simply too much.

Weird Japanese girl singers are sooo 2002...
