I highly recommend BBC's In Our Time. Weekly Panel discussion on History\Science\Culture\Religion. Each week dedicated to one topic. The host, Melvyn Bragg is great.It's been going for well over a decade (probably a lot long), and there are hundreds of archived episodes available.

This weird old Blues-Hippy-Freakout-Guitar guy I know in Arkansas has a huge and great record collection. He does a radio show at the local FM and it can be fantastic depending on what he wants to hear. Just his deep Arkansas hillbilly banter is pretty great.
