My gf and I rented a very nice (and expensive) lake house at one of the highland lakes West of Austin. It’s lovely, but the rednecks in powerboats and jet skis are making it tough to completely enjoy. I expect it will get worse as the weekend progresses. Lots of awful country music being blared at top volume too. It’s basically hair metal with a twang. Butt country. Sugar country. Much closer to Def Leppard than Merle Haggard.
Belligerence is a virtue out here in rural Texas.
Heh, ahhhhh… proper laughs at this!

Good instant coffee is saving my life.
My spouse looks beautiful with a shaved head.
Hospitals are amazing.

The folks upstairs are having a party. They might be from Mali, the music sounds like that. Those melodies are so captivating, but quite hard to follow. I wouldn't be able to sing them.

Didn't we used to have a misheard lyrics thread?
Anyway, related to that, this morning I remembered that, because for the longest time I'd heard "Eminence Front" only in snippets, in passing, I never recognized it as a Who song and had assumed the chorus was "Everybody's Butt".
Like until my mid-thirties.

There is a young woman at my workplace who talks to me a lot about her personal life, which is a total shitshow. Strangely, the busier I am, the more she wants my attention. When I try to get her to keep it professional, her feelings get hurt. It’s tiresome.
She’s also an aspiring songwriter and wants me to hear her lyrics about her recent breakup. Sometimes she sings me the song. Cringe.
I understand the pandemic has been hard on gen z, but I’ve had to do a lot of playing therapist to my younger workmates, and I’m reaching the end of my rope.

Ooooo…you should start a thread and keep all of us up to date with the details of her life. Like a Dear Diary

They do drive-up check in at the time-share my girlfriend has where we're staying, and it literally took us 15 minutes to get them to stop with the spiel for an appointment for their sales presentation. I've been driving for 13 hours, and I was ready to lamp a motherfucker.

I understand the pandemic has been hard on everyone, but I’ve had to do a lot of playing therapist to most people close to me, and I’m reaching the end of my rope.
This has been the last 2.5 years for me.
