I actually really dislike even good gin, though for whatever reason still partake in the gin and tonic at bars from time to time. People try to convince me that there is a good gin, but I think that what they mean is that there are slightly more tolerable gins.
As for the drinks in a can, those were (and possibly still are) available in Upper Michigan, though I'm pretty certain those don't even advertise what brand of liquor or soda they use and have Shasta-esqe generic artwork on the cans. They were great for boating or the beach, and I still possess a fond nostalgia for canned cocktails.
The Coppola vineyard has a sparkling wine in cans (I believe it's called Sofia and it's a Blanc, which sucks because I prefer Rosé and think Sofia Coppola is a talentless hack), and while it's definitely a novelty, I can't get over the cute little straw that it comes with. It's the coolest retractable bendy straw ever. The sparkling wine is pretty unremarkable, but I do like the idea of canning drinks that aren't beers, especially with the number of events that don't allow for glass bottles.
