The past few weeks have been difficult but transformative. Got a mystery illness that interacted with other declines in health, and so now I'm getting a lot more exercise and improved diet to compensate. I hurt all the time but it's a good hurt (that's a lie, it sucks but it's a hurt I can be proud of). Sleep and digestion are still fucked up but improving. Overwhelmed with the love and support from Facebook friends (many of whom are forumites) that came in especially when my dog died in the midst of my health situation. I wish we were all in the same area so I could hug and thank people in person.

I feel disconnected from any sense of community except for the disembodied online community, which though great is not fulfilling all my needs. I don't know how to fix that but I am trying to reach out more to people. I've gone on a "hey how's it going" DM/text/calling spree that, if my friends compared notes with each other, makes it seem like I'm preparing to commit suicide. I promise I'm not; I want to live as long as possible, and just want it to be a better life with more meaningful connections.

Not today, but over the last two months I've had 10 Italian wine producers in town to help work the market. Since they can travel here freely again after two years unable they are all chomping at the bit to get over here. So anyway, being Italian, they need stops for caffe often. It's fucking hilarious watching these guys and gals order coffee and drinks and then watching their facial expressions as they taste the coffee. Trying to read menus with paragraph descriptions of the drinks. "Too acid" is the most common response to the first sip. I wish I took video of every single one of them. Pre-sweetened matcha tea, too much milk in the cappuccino. "What is this oat milk?" was heard often. So funny.

I want to do a YouTube series called "Italians in America Getting Coffee."

"Americans in Italy Getting Coffee" would also be interesting, though mostly for the barista's reactions to the odd requests and special orders. After a while I would probably get too aggravated at my fellow Americans and turn it off.

Indeed. I became aggravated at the "baristas" being aggravated with the Italians. So impatient.

Today I became the mark in a Hong Kong/Phillipines WhatsApp scam. I'm gonna go along and play this out as long as I can.

Will do. I was reading about them and they can go on for months. This one is fitness equipment manufacturer based in Hong Kong, but the country code on the phone is Philippines. I've had another like this but let it go.

It's really cool to see my little cousins band (Dwaal Troupe) get really good press in The Reader. Is this pride I am feeling?
