Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?

Having sworn off buying any new gear for ages, gumtree (kinda craigslist-y) threw up an mxr distortion + modded to increase headroom/be more like a dod 250. Given that 250's are stupidly expensive in the UK at the mo, this was only £30, and the buyer was 10 mins walk away, I found myself outside Kentish Town tube clutching banknotes and looking for a man in a leopardskin hat.

So far so good. I much prefer it on my JM than on either of my Gretsches, but yeah, it does what I hoped it would. And for £30.

But now, seriously, no more gear. No more gear. No. More. Gear.

I picked up this soundcraft broadcast console from a very nice Serbian man this morning. It's a bit of a gamble since it's missing the power supply, but the idea of running 8 stereo subgroups out of my computer and having some knobs and faders to dink around on as a last step was compelling enough to take a $100CAD risk.

Also it looks awesome.

Someone locally has a Cascade x15 stereo ribbon listed for $200, and I'm probably gonna go for it.
