This is the most that Maine has been discussed since Murder She Wrote was on.
I could go into some detail about eating a lobster roll in a parking lot on Rt 1 Scarborough last week, if we want to change focus here.

Loving the new cosy relationship w Saudi Arabia …
- Kashoggi murder? Ah, shit happens - nothing to see here
- 911… aaah that was decades ago, all is forgiven
Now let’s get down to the business of getting obscenely rich

I'm fairly sure that for MAGA 9/11 was an inside job. So truly nothing to see there.

The funnier, more transparent and probably more interesting story from Platner is emptyG pretending that she should get any grace at all now that she's got the gun she pointed at minorities now pointed at her.
What did Macolm say that got him in trouble RE: Kennedy? About chickens coming home to roost?
I don't wish harm on her, or anyone as a rule, but sympathy and compassion will do more good elsewhere than with her.

Lets not fool ourselves, this is the least surprising thing ever. Saudi Arabia was born entirely out of the playbook of Colonial Britsh statecraft fuckery and America's Standard Oil. A couple of years of faux indignation isn't going to upend a century of profitability and mutually assured regional dominance.

We can't jeopardize those arms deals over a dismembered journalist or two.

He wasn't a journalist, he was a decades long political liability who had worked for Saudi Intelligence and was embedded with Bin Laden when they were all happily fighting the commies in Afghanistan but then started working for the other side. I don't pretend to know the complexities of the skullduggery, and it goes way deep, but he wasn't just some schlub paparazzi writing unflattering articles. And ultimately it's just another imperialist power eliminating their enemies with impunity. If I try on my tinfoil hat, I wouldn't even be shocked if the US conveniently looked the other way as a personal favor.

Because my government does it over my objections, I should accept that other governments do also? That seems to be the conclusion of this statement if we draw to it's logical end...

I'm just being fatalistic...sadly I don't think state sanctioned assassinations and staged coups are going to go away in my lifetime, but that shouldn't deter you from objecting when anybody does it. My thought was only to point out that the West has always had a vested interest in maintaining a positive relationship with Saudi Arabia.
