I agree on this one. The idea individual decisions are the problem with climate change has bothered me for as long as I can remember this being an issue.
Governments could fix the problem overnight, they don’t and instead our taxes go into funding awareness campaigns. It’s perverse.

Some of your motherfuckers must be the stupidest eloquent people on this fucking planet, just blowing yourself pretending to be NYT op ed writers.
You would shit on a gold bar if it was in front of you.

Took an Acela from Philly > Boston last month. It was about 6 hours? I feel like all-in, considering the overhead of security, transport to the airport, stress of boarding and the general unpleasantness of flying, Amtrak still had the edge over air travel.

Even though it's a little longer than the optimal high-speed train distance: a theoretical Chicago Union Station to New York Penn Station in 7 hours? Yeah, I'd consider it.
I wonder if we'll see it in our lifetime. We'd have to keep Republicans from controlling the government for a long time.

What you don't compost? Then you are the problem.
[Meanwhile billion dollar tech companies boost carbon emissions beyond what thousands of households can generate, and mining companies poison the water supply] But when the world ends I'll know it was my fault for refusing to bicycle commute in the winter.

I don't have an "individual responsibility" issue with Mamdani flying instead of taking a train. Fuck, I fly. A lot.
However, for him, it is a missed opportunity. More high-speed rail won't be built unless there is perceived demand for it, and Mamdani is about as high profile as anyone to help raise awareness of it.

You know who else made this comment about Mamdani flying, in addition to that questioner and meeting and our own FM OE? Laura Loomer.
It's one fucking flight, to see the fucking president. Was the plane full?
The optics are what they are because of the decades long marketing campaign making us as individuals responsible for saving the environment.
They could have done the meeting by Zoom, or Meet.
This whole thing is so fucking dumb, whether referring to the environment or another kind of waste.

Ever heard of Gore-Tex? Yes, it will be YOUR fault.

And it continues. Do you people read what you write? A mayor elect missed opportunity to ride a train instead of a plane? There are no trains in New York. He ran in New York.
How about he gets to be a mayor of a city before he starts solving the overall neglect of public welfare that has been going in the USA for the last, what, 50, 70 years?
I know I know. It's really hard to build stuff in USA so what's the point basically advocating for that stuff in the first place. But he really missed that opportunity.
GOT IT.

Did we give him shit for wearing a light blue tie in the oval office yet? He really departed from his dark blue tone with al least a flower pattern he was so devoted to in the campaign.

Dude, you're undermining your own argument here.
