Always a good way to kill a few minutes. Or an hour...

Came home yesterday to find a message left for my roommate on the machine, from his 3-year-old neice:

"Hi unkie Alex I love you. Here I go again on my own, going down the only road I've ever known. [sounds of struggle] Let me hold it. Beer beer beeeeeeeeer! Here I go again on my own, going down the... hot dogs, hot dogs [click]."

Who's there.

Wall.

Wall who?

...

Wall people.

Hmm, I can see the dadaist angle she's going for (a comment on the disaffected peoples of the former West Germany perhaps?) but I dunno. How was her delivery?

i'm not sure a dadaist would be going for any angle at all.

I had the best day with my son today. Just he and I at Culzean Castle, walking in the woods, splashing in the streams, making bows and arrows from the windfall branches, a flask of hot chocolate then a dip in the local swimming pool.

The little girl who snubbed Vincent Gallo at the Anna Sui fashion show is the daughter of a friend of mine.

Apparently, he smelled a bit off.

I have no idea where one would get that idea.

I'm sitting home on Friday night writing.

About 10 minutes ago I heard 4-5 gunshots outside my building, in front of the Korean nightclub I believe.

No screaming or yelling or any kind of sound followed.

Then I heard one siren approaching.

Now many sirens.

I just saw a commercial for a company selling artificial grass for Northern Californians' homes. That's like getting a toupee for one's lawn. How fucked up do you have to be to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on a lawn toupee? It's likely that some yuppie in the Oakland Hills is spending the equivalent of 2-3 times my highest yearly salary ever on astroturf.
