I watched the 'Blade Runner 2049' again on the however the HBO thing is called now. Still absolutely superb, could be my favorite sequel ever.

I had no time at all for it, then watched it some years after and it really landed. No idea why. A very decent film.

My flatmate's been watching Hacks and I've been really enjoying it from the other side of the couch. It's smart, well-written and emotionally intelligent, as well as very funny. Jean Smart is a killer actress and it's great to see her get a lead role. She always stole the show whenever she guested in Frasier and she nailed it here too.
I've been watching Snowfall. It's whatever. Just another crime drama. It makes me miss The Wire.
Also, people seem to think it's a true story, but I think it's only true in the "CIA started the crack epidemic" part and they just made everything else up to get a TV show. Someone accurately summarised it as "GTA: San Andreas the TV show".

Netflix
Gangs of London. I've only watched the first episode, but it's pretty great.
[Edit: not for the faint of heart.]

The complete Homicide: Life on the Street is now on Peacock. A one-of-a-kind show, with a lot of character, and characters.
I was really excited for this; my mom and I watched this when I was in junior high.
Started watching on Monday, already coming to the end of season four (granted the first two seasons are very short). It's a very easily digestible show while also being pretty grisly for nineties network TV.
Funny how, thirty years later, I absolutely hate the shit out of Bayliss. The most annoying dumbass. Lewis is on notice, too.

It's a very good show, at its best. I like how every other character is a chainsmoker (something you'd never see today). Overall, it has lots of good banter, often during the downtime.
Bayliss is definitely wet behind the ears at the beginning. His career as a detective gets off on the wrong foot what with that damned case that ends up haunting his entire career. The dynamic between him and Pembleton is amusing, especially when it comes to a head, like when the copious grilled cheese sandwiches get stuffed in all the desks.

Two episodes in and fuck is it brutal. Second kept me thinking about it while I was falling asleep, about all the building in downtown Los Angeles right now. I don't know why that scene hit me so hard, but man.

Netflix
Terminator Zero. I watched the first episode, and it's good, if you like that sort of thing. Which I do.
