Ponyo's one of my favourites - the art style is all hand-drawn.

I actually liked a movie with Adam Sandler. I liked the giant spider better, but Adam was pretty good.

Rewatched Strange Darling, Red Rooms, and, for the first time watched The Vampire Lovers. Lots of boobies, cleavage, a little bush, and a decapitation amidst the lesbionic horseplay.

Anger Management isn't bad. Not at all actually, I've watched it several times and laughed. Except when they're doing the "I'm so happy" song on the highway I'm like, oh there's
that Adam Sandler again.

.. I wanted to like it more, but it just seemed very middling. All beautifully filmed and slow and considered, but just felt like it was the sum of many films I’d seen before. Dunno if this is a recalcitrant middle aged thing, but fuck it’s hard to find a film that hits my sweet spot these days!
Any film tips to get me thru Xmas please share - character driven, no bullshit, good story telling
(i have resisted the urge to use the term ‘old fashioned’)

Anora. I’d see it in a theater if you can.
