Wonder how this compares to the Warm clone. I've always dug the u47 kick sound but that's still a lot of dough for something that does one very specific thing.
Either way I'll need to hold off until used for either becomes an actual option and even then hard to justify.

Said earlier that I was good gear-wise, but nonetheless, am getting an absorption baffle today. My first. Am mildly excited to run it through some informal tests once I'm well rested.
In a nutshell, it's appealing, the idea of capturing mid-side "atmospherics" but also having the option of eliminating or at least dampening strumming sounds behind the mic if recording at more moderate volume levels. I like the potential too of using a longer than usual cord from the pedal board to the amp and placing the pedal board behind the baffle, such that the sound of switching effects on or off is less likely to get picked up.
These might be non-issues if I were tracking in a less cramped space/"proper studio"-type situation. We'll see how it all sounds. But the absorption baffle should have some sort of usefulness, I think.

Good sensible purchase

Got to demo one of these recently, it was really nice. Of course I've never spent time with a real FET 47 but this sounded rich in a way budget copy mics generally don't. I wonder if it would be closer in sound/quality to say the AT4047 than one of the Warm Audio copies.
My buying/on way is:
- 6.5" Acrolite
- 20" Aquarian bass drum reso head w/ big center hole (if I don't like it I'll move it to the backup kit which also has a 20" bass drum)
- Fredric Effects Regent 150 which just arrived and in under 10 min became a pry-it-from-my-cold-dead-hands pedal to me
Next on the list ideally:
- I've already replaced the ride cymbal as it was most urgent (now it's a Sabian HHX Groove Ride), but since I've fairly committed to 2B sticks I'd like to scale up my 16" crash and 14" hi-hats as well. 19" and 15" respectively, I'm thinking.
- some kind of interesting guitar amp head (I don't actually have any non-combo guitar amps!) to go with this JBL-loaded 15" guitar cab I picked up a while ago

This is in fact a great pedal, looks really cool too, but mine was interacting weird with a digital chorus/vibrato I wanted to keep, so I swapped in an RC Booster V2 instead.
In general though the Regent 150 is recommended.

It's a great little boost pedal.

I just got a Marshall Artist 3203 head. It's pretty great once you figure out the knobs.

Ordered a Squier Classic Vibe '50s Tele on super deal (less than used) before Christmas. Was way backordered and just got an email it shipped.
