'68 Bassman through a 2 x 12 Traynor cab

A Tweed Champ replica I built in an ugly case with an ugly upper harmonic at higher volumes, but with a really nice break-up.

Is H-H to the UK what Traynor is to Canada?

I just know it as the Daniel Ash amp.

If anyone calls it the Jack White amp (still waiting for a Jack Black/Jack White collaboration), tell 'em no, you mean the Lou Reed amp.

HA! Thank you, Signor Antero! I meant the Jack White but said the Jack Black! So funny these names!

And this "Lou Reed!" What a name! So funny!

Salut!

Isn't Traynor Canuckia's most historically significant amp manufacturer?

I'm probably wrong, but if I'm not then Traynor would be to Canada what Vox is to the UK.

I don't know a lot about Traynors.

Well, I can see it both ways.

H&H is a suprisingly good solid state amp for a good value, much like Traynors. But Traynor is the most well known amp coming out of canada, so it could be the Vox or Marshall of Canada.

However, being so close to the US, Traynor has been generally overshadowed by american amp makers. It's forgotten in most circles, with the Electrical board being a big exception.

I play a couple of different amps.

-Mid-60s Airline combo. 50 watts. Says "Montgomery Ward Musical Instrument Amplifier" on the back. Two channels. Just Volume and Tone knobs for each. Turn up the Tone, it sounds better. You could go swimming in the tremolo.

- Late 70's Marshall 4140 "Club And Country" combo. 100 watts. 2 12-inch speakers. Completely brown in color (a big reason why I got it). This was Marshall's short-lived attempt to compete with the Twin. Web research has revealed that tone-masters Stevie Ray Vaughn and Alex Lifeson dug these amps (shudder). I really like how this amp sounds.

-1968 Sunn Solarus head. Am looking for cab at the moment.

Here's a question: Why do all those cheap-ass-yet-actually-awesome amps have such AMAZING tremolos?
